The Admission Process
The admission process for Azle Christian School involves several steps to ensure a good fit for both the student and the school. Here's a breakdown of the typical process:
- Initial Inquiry and Tour:
- You can set up an appointment for a guided tour of the school with the school secretary (Jessi Nichols at 817-444-9964 or jnichols@azlechristianschool.org
- Online application
- Complete and submit the online application. This simplifies the process and allows you to track the status of your application.
- Submission of Supplemental Documents: You will need to submit the following items to the school secretary (by email, fax, or hard copy):
- Copy of parent/guardian's driver's license.
- Student's birth certificate.
- Student's immunization record.
- Most recent school transcript (high school students) or report card (for all other grades). Kindergarten students entering for the first time do not need to provide a report card.
- Pastoral reference form (to be filled out by the student's pastor and returned to the school).
- Interview:
- Parents and students will interview with the school administrator.
- Admission Status Notification:
- Parents will be notified of the admission status.
- Financial Enrollment:
- Once accepted, you'll complete the financial portion of the enrollment process. This involves making an appointment with Serena Cornelius to sign financial agreement forms and discuss payment options.
- A registration fee (e.g., $350) is required upon acceptance to secure enrollment.
Important Considerations for Admission:
- Student Standing: Students must be in good standing academically, behaviorally, and attendance-wise with previously attended schools.
- Age Requirements:
- Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1st.
- Pre-Kindergarten students must be 4 years old by September 1st.
- Disciplinary Record: New students must have a good disciplinary record. The school will not accept students who have been expelled from other schools, are known users of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs, or have excessive absences from previous schools.
- Parental Support: Enrollment is considered a privilege, and continued enrollment is dependent on both the student's actions and attitudes, as well as continued parental support of the school, its staff, and its policies.
- Honesty: Withholding or misrepresenting information vital to the admission process (e.g., past disciplinary issues, learning disabilities) may lead to expulsion.
